Quick way to display CSV files as HTML tables

During database projects I frequently need to export certain views or intermediate results as CSV files. These are further used for importing into other databases. However, many times it is required to display the CSV files in web pages as HTML tables. As most times the data is generated on the fly it requires some JavaScript to turn the CSV data to HTML. One of my current favorite is the csv-to-html-table library. This allows you to easily integrate CSV files into your web pages.

Building a self-correcting email input field

Email is one of the common input fields in any web form. Many sites use two email fields to make sure that the user has entered correct email ids. This is a common idiom in web design, and it is surprising that it has not changed over all these years. One of the interesting alternative I found is the ‘MailCheck’ JavaScript library. The library enables you to offer the user a suggestion for the domain name if he makes a mistake while entering. A demo is shown below.

Generating clean URLs with javascript

In a recent project I needed to generate clean search urls on a form submit. There are basically two ways to do that. One is to post the search variables to the same page, and generate a clean url using PHP and then redirect it to the new url. The other way is to generate clean urls using JavaScript and immediately direct the page to the new url. This saves some processing on the server and one redirection, and also allows us to generate a url without a page refresh. I decided to go with the JavaScript solution.
